New Neuromuscular Training for Peripheral Nerve Disorders Using an Ankle Joint Hybrid Assistive Limb: A Case Series

چکیده

Peripheral nerve disorder of the lower extremities causes drop foot and disturbs daily living activities patients. The ankle joint hybrid assistive limb (HAL) provides voluntary training using surface bioelectrical signals from muscles extremities. We investigated neurological effects HAL in three Sensory action potentials (SNAPs) compound muscle (CMAPs) were analyzed for peroneal tibial nerves prior to first session. Integrated electromyography EMG recorded before after sessions evaluate neuromuscular disorders. patients hospitalized receive rehabilitation with 2 weeks. was performed two 60 min sessions. All cases demonstrated severe impairment according result CMAP. integrated measurements antagonistic decreased training. manual testing (MMT) scores each slightly increased intervention Case 2(tibialis anterior, 2+; gastrocnemius muscles, 2− 2; extensor digitorum longus, hallucis 1 3). MMT also except 3 (tibialis 2). These contractions CMAP Even though amplitude CMAPs low, may provide movements by reducing contraction via computer processing. enhance movement coordination through motor learning feedback.

Effect of a 6-week dynamic neuromuscular training programme on ankle joint function: A Case report

BACKGROUND Ankle joint sprain and the subsequent development of chronic ankle instability (CAI) are commonly encountered by clinicians involved in the treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. It has recently been advocated that ankle joint post-sprain rehabilitation protocols should incorporate dynamic neuromuscular training to enhance ankle joint sensorimotor capabilities. To ...

Long-term neuromuscular training and ankle joint position sense.

Preventive effect of proprioceptive training is proven by decreasing injury incidence, but its proprioceptive mechanism is not. Major hypothesis: the training has a positive long-term effect on ankle joint position sense in athletes of a high-risk sport (handball). Ten elite-level female handball-players represented the intervention group (training-group), 10 healthy athletes of other sports fo...

Clinical application of the Hybrid Assistive Limb (HAL) for gait training—a systematic review

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to review the literature on clinical applications of the Hybrid Assistive Limb system for gait training. METHODS A systematic literature search was conducted using Web of Science, PubMed, CINAHL and clinicaltrials.gov and additional search was made using reference lists in identified reports. Abstracts were screened, relevant articles were reviewed and subj...

A Hybrid Classifier for Characterizing Motor Unit Action Potentials in Diagnosing Neuromuscular Disorders

Background: The time and frequency features of motor unit action potentials (MUAPs) extracted from electromyographic (EMG) signal provide discriminative information for diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders. However, the results of conventional automatic diagnosis methods using MUAP features is not convincing yet. Objective: The main goal in designing a MUAP characterization system ...

Sustained effects of once-a-week gait training with hybrid assistive limb for rehabilitation in chronic stroke: case study

[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to investigate the accumulated and sustained effects of once-a-week gait training with a powered exoskeleton suit, Hybrid Assistive Limb, in a subject with chronic stroke. [Subject and Methods] The subject was a woman in her early sixties who had stroke onset approximately 5 years ago. A single-case ABA design was used. A 2-month baseline period was follo...
